Hi I’m Lindsay Penner. I graduated from Wellington College of Massage Therapy 11 years ago (how did that happen?!) and owned Muscle Matters in partnership with Karis Penner for 7 years.
Now, I am thrilled to be here, working with Shyla and a team of Certified Body Sugarists, and bringing the Muscle Matters name back to life. I envision this as becoming more of a spa atmosphere, with hopefully modalities like esthetics bringing relaxing treatments like facials. I aim to continue to bring professional, quality massage and body care services to Steinbach.
Outside of work I love to travel, have an amazing daughter, great friends and pets, and love to do anything on the water, especially kayaking.

I’m Shyla Doerksen and I have been sugaring for the past 10 years and have been loving my career choice! The clients I meet, the friendships I’ve made have made this experience the best!
I am a mother of 4, wife of a wonderful husband who brought 2 sons, 2 daughter in laws and 3 grandchildren to our marriage. I am fur mama to Duke.
I am constantly searching for the best products to use on our sugaring clients, and learning new techniques to make the process as quick and painless as possible.
We continue to strive for perfection and continue to give our clients the reputable service they
have come to count on.
Hi, I’m Savanna! I am super happy to be a part of the Muscle Matters and Body Care team! You can usually find me Saturday’s taking care of your questions, and handling our admin and cleaning needs behind the scenes.
Outside of here you could see me hanging with friends, practicing photography, painting, fishing on the lake or doing anything gymnastics related!
Hello! I’m Abbey Bradley and I was born and raised right here in Steinbach. I moved to Saskatchewan approximately 6 years ago, finished 3 years of college, received a bachelors degree and met my future husband all within those few years. My husband and I recently relocated to Steinbach to pursue new and exciting ventures; him in the trades and myself in the ancient art of body sugaring.
In my spare time I enjoy writing music, singing, creating artwork along with tending to the needs of my pets. I love to spend time out in nature and gardening is another passion of mine. I am elated to be a part of the Muscle Matters & Body Care team and look forward to building relationships with my peers and clients alike.
Hey! I’m Denise Peters, and a current student at Wellington College on my last year of studies; set to graduate June of 2021! I am excited to be taking clients here at Muscle Matters as part of my studies. My goal after graduation is to pursue specialization in pre/post natal work, including both pregnancy and infant massage.
Outside of school and work I take time to enjoy my family and friends, be it over board games, meals or a cup of tea. I love to get out into the trees in the summer but prefer my heated apartment and Netflix in the winter.
But this is my passion, to heal people through my hands.
Hi, I’m Joanna Penner. I have always wanted to work in a field that helped others. Three years ago I graduated from the Massage Therapy College of Manitoba and was able to achieve my goal. I am so excited to be working at Muscle Matters. One of my favourite things about being a massage therapist is meeting new people and developing relationships. I am very passionate about craniosacral therapy and plan on continuing my education into this field of study.
In my free time during the summer you can usually find me on the water, wake boarding, kayaking or fishing. I also enjoy biking and playing at the park with my kids. In winter I strap on my skates or snowshoes. But most of the time I am just waiting for summer to come back.
