Lye: Lye in the form of both sodium hydroxide and potassium hydroxide is used in making soap.
Distilled Water: Using distilled water is consistent. By using distilled water in your soap making, you know that you aren’t add anything that could possibly cause any problems with your batch of soap.
Coconut Oil: In cold process soap, coconut oil is generally used around 20-30% of the recipe. Coconut oil is a super cleansing addition that produces big, copious bubbles.
Olive Oil: Olive oil has been used as a cosmetic and soap ingredient for thousands of years. In today’s soap making, olive oil, botanical name Olea Europaea (Olive) Oil, helps to produce a moisturizing creamy rich lather.
Canola Oil: Canola Oil gives a nice, low, creamy lather and is moisturizing. It will slow down the rate at which your soap will get to trace, so it’s a good oil to add if you’re doing complicated swirls or colors.
Chocolate Hazelnut Coffee: Coffee grounds are a great exfoliant.
Vanilla Essential Oil: Vanilla Essential Oil helps to slow down signs of ageing like fine lines, wrinkles and age spots. It not only leaves your skin feeling rejuvenated but also smelling lovely.
