Hi, I’m Lindsay Penner. (she/her)
I graduated from Wellington College of Massage Therapy 13 years ago (how did that happen?!) and owned Muscle Matters in partnership with Karis Penner for 7 years.
Now, I am thrilled to be here, working along side a team of fellow massage therapists and other service providers bringing the Muscle Matters name back to life. I aim to continue to bring professional, quality massage and body care services to Steinbach, Manitoba.
Outside of work I love to travel, have an amazing daughter, great friends and pets, and love to do anything on the water, especially kayaking.

Hia, I’m Savanna! (she/her)
During the day you can find me answering your calls, taking care of bookings, keeping our shelves stocked with quality products and creating online content.
I value local makers the most when they use natural or quality ingredients in their products and eco friendly packaging. If that be compostable wrapping, recyclable or reusable containers or simply no packaging at all. I believe humans create far too much waste so over the years I have opted for local, more sustainable products with less packaging and better ingredients. Some personal favourites of mine include SugarSMAC’s Ultra scrub bar, Old Soul’s ‘take a hike’ natural soap bar, West 5 Story’s sisal soap sleeve and the fruit loop whipped soap by Crafted Bath. My favourite crystal bracelets are also made in Steinbach by Sarah Makes Bracelets.
Outside of here you could find me hitting up every thrift and antique store around to fuel my low levels of dopamine and maximalist lifestyle. My favourite genres of music to drown out the world are rock, indie, alternative and Taylor Swift. I also spend much of my free time wandering around like a sim trying to decide if I should crochet or paint.

Can offer services in English and plattdeutsch (low german).
Hey, I’m Denise Peters! (she/they)
I am a 2021 graduate of Wellington College! I am very excited to be taking clients here at Muscle Matters!
Outside of school and work I take time to enjoy my family and friends, be it over board games, meals or a cup of tea. I love to get out into the trees in the summer but prefer my heated apartment and Netflix in the winter.
But this is my passion, to heal people through my hands.

Hi, I’m Joanna Penner! (she/her)
I have always wanted to work in a field that helped others. Four years ago I graduated from the Massage Therapy College of Manitoba and was able to achieve my goal. I am so excited to be working at Muscle Matters. One of my favourite things about being a massage therapist is meeting new people and developing relationships. I am very passionate about craniosacral therapy and plan on continuing my education into this field of study.
In my free time during the summer you can usually find me on the water, wake boarding, kayaking or fishing. I also enjoy biking and playing at the park with my kids. In winter I strap on my skates or snowshoes. But most of the time I am just waiting for summer to come back.

Hello, my name is Larissa! (she/her)
I’m the Permanent Makeup Artist here at Muscle Matters.
I was in the field of fashion and beauty for more than 15 years and have worked with famous brands such as Dior, Chanel, Clinic, Loreal and more.
Fashion took a lot of time, effort and energy and when my little fashionista daughter appeared, I had to give up fashion and devote my life to her.
6 years ago, my love for permanent makeup began. A few years ago I moved to Canada from Germany and took a short break from PMU, later resuming my journey. I am constantly undergoing advanced training with the world’s best masters and believe there is no limit to perfection. My goal is to give you the most painless treatment possible with little to no crusts or swelling. That’s why I only work with high-quality, certified pigments and all consumables are disposable.
For me, it’s not just a job but my passion. It brings me peace, pleasure and creative expression to emphasize one’s natural beauty. I will always listen carefully to my clients’ wishes after our consultation so I can create the best, most suitable look for you.
My PMU specialty is permanent eyebrows, lips and eyeliner.
I can’t wait to meet you and create the perfect permanent makeup look for your needs.

Hello, my name is Holly Hiebert! (she/her)

Outside of work I have a very strong passion for animals, travel and the great outdoors!

Hi, I’m Janelle Sawatzky. (she/her)
I’m currently a student in my final year of studies at Wellington College of Remedial Massage Therapy. I’m excited to begin working with the Muscle Matters and Body Care team this year and to learn from them as I complete my clinical hours. I’m always looking forward to meeting and helping new clients whether they want to see me for pain relief, general relaxation, or both! I’m passionate about personalizing each massage based on my client’s needs and comfort level. Through osteopathic-based assessment and massage, I can’t wait to continue learning how to best serve my clients by addressing the root cause of their pain.
In my free time, I enjoy taking the dogs on walks, working on painting projects, and paddle boarding at the beach during the summer.
